Matthew Scott FPC, MAQ

Matthew Scott has been working within the Financial Services sector since 1996 and as such, has a broad knowledge of the industry itself. His first post was as a Personal Financial Adviser with a company called United Friendly Financial Planning, dealing with high net worth clients from American Express. Wanting to offer a wider choice of products to his clients, Matthew became an independent financial consultant with Hogg Robinson Financial Services, now known as Towry Law. It was here that he learned the true value of independent advice and creating the opportunity of 'choice' for his clients. Quickly Matthew became involved with the corporate market and from hereon, desired to broaden his knowledge further by acting as a Development Consultant, advising financial firms themselves about the benefits and importance of the corporate market for employees and employers alike, with a leading provider, UNUM.

During this time however, having acquired this overall knowledge from alternative companies and their services, Matthew craved to provide the one to one service to members of the general public again, but this time, instead of attempting to be 'a jack of all trades' he wanted to focus on his financial passion, mortgages.

His next role as a Mortgage Adviser was within a local estate agency, but although the products and services on offer were reasonable, the overall attitude from the company about their customers was all wrong. Being told to treat clients as profit margins on a never ending conveyer belt hit home and he could only tolerate it for as long as he was contractually obliged to remain there!

Having said this, despite the bad experience it was a positive one, since it allowed him to visualise what was the utopian practice for his clients; one that is firstly specialised, personable and most importantly trustworthy and ethical.

It was then that he realised that instead of attempting to continue to find this firm, he should set up his own. This is where Mortgages Revisited was born and in April 2002, with Matthew being a sole trader, he was able to provide all the positive aspects of his experiences to pass onto his clients. Hence, for many a happy year, Mortgages Revisited worked alongside WPLC Financial Consultants with the same moralistic approach to client advice, until it was decided that as one company we could offer every aspect of the financial spectrum with all the traits that we have worked so hard to gain, in order that our clients have the ultimate in advice and customer satisfaction.
